Salute to Flowers is a project that honors countries and communities in crisis by highlighting the deep cultural significance of flowers and plant life in their traditions, customs, and beliefs.
In many places, flowers are used to heal, celebrate, grieve, show gratitude, and preserve identity. Yet the people living through hardship are often the last to receive recognition.
“Give them their flowers” is a phrase usually reserved for those who have already passed or achieved fame. This project asks: why must the living fight for the same acknowledgment?
Created myself, Kwaku, Salute to Flowers uses the universal language of flowers to recognize the forgotten — to honor culture, history, resilience, and beauty that still exists even in difficult times.
